Fees, insurance, and what to expect

Session frequency and format

I offer individual psychotherapy for adults via telehealth. Sessions are typically 55 minutes and take place once or twice weekly. For some people, more frequent sessions may be appropriate depending on their needs and goals.

Therapy is generally open-ended rather than limited to a predetermined number of sessions. The length and frequency of treatment are discussed collaboratively and may evolve over time.

Because I’m licensed in Michigan, I can only offer sessions to people who are located in Michigan at the time of the appointment.

Fees and insurance

I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield and Blue Care Network insurance plans. Your out-of-pocket costs depend on your specific plan and benefits.

If your plan includes a copay or coinsurance, your cost per session will typically range from $10 to $50. If you have a deductible, you may be responsible for the full session cost until it is met. Depending on your plan, this may be approximately $150 to $180 per session.

Please contact your insurance provider to confirm your mental health benefits, including your deductible, copay or coinsurance, and in-network coverage.

I also offer out-of-network payment options. My fee is $200 for the initial diagnostic assessment and $180 for follow-up sessions. If I am out-of-network with your insurance plan, I can provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) that you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

Getting started

The first step is an initial consultation. This gives us an opportunity to talk about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to understand or change, and whether my approach feels like a good fit for you.

Finding the right therapist is an important part of the process. I welcome questions about my approach, the practical aspects of treatment, and what you might expect from beginning therapy.
